What your day might be like if you do get the job

Arrive at work and fire up your SSD computer, VM’s and multiple monitors then check in with the other members of the test team to find out how the automated test run went overnight. Make some quick adjustments to the automated scripts, for the new tool released to testing last week, so it’s ready for another run tonight. Begin working through the ‘requires merging’ list and attempt to replicate that elusive issue noticed earlier in the week. After a productive morning you are shocked to hear that it’s already time for lunch. Now the hardest part of the day, which of the 50 or so take away places do you choose to tantalise your taste buds. After lunch you work on trying to break the new upload component. You use every conceivable file that could be attempted to be uploaded as well as change the .NET configuration settings to accommodate extra-large files and slow networks. You write a brief report on the outcome of your testing, discussion with the dev team and what limitations you discovered. End the day by completing the team audit of security access to applications in a mixed mode authentication scenario and have a group discussion regarding the test plans for an upcoming project.
